The woman behind the name
Johara — “the jewel” — is a Russian-born artist who turned the world into her stage.
She began with ballet and ballroom at the age of three, but it was oriental dance that claimed her. She gave it everything — and the dance gave it back, crowning her Champion of Russia and Vice-Champion of the world.
Today she lives between Cairo and the road, a fixture of the international scene whose energy, charisma and modern style fill galas, festivals and stages across continents.
From the floor she stepped to the screen — appearing in feature films and television beside the region's biggest names, and gathering a community of millions who follow every move.
